Veteran defender Matts Hummels is being linked with a possible move to Serie A after leaving Borussia Dortmund today.

Hummels officially leaves Borussia Dortmund after more than 13 years of career at the German club.

The defender, who played a crucial role in Dortmund’s journey to the Champions League final, was not included in Germany’s squad for the EURO’s.

Therefore, the departure from Dortmund makes Hummels immediately available as a free agent on the transfer market, offering a rare opportunity for teams looking for defensive experience.

Despite his 35 years, Hummels has no plans to retire.

According to German newspaper Bild, the defender has also aroused interest in Italy.

Serie A clubs such as Milan, Juventus and Roma are actively looking for reinforcements for their defenses and could see Hummels as a reliable and highly experienced solution.
