Reports from Portugal claim that it is highly unlikely for Roma to trigger the option included in the loan deal for 30-year-old midfielder Sergio Oliveira.
Oliveira joined Roma in January in an effort to boost Jose Mourinho’s midfield. The loan deal involved a buy option for around €13.5 million.
However, the Giallorossi do not seem convinced of this operation and the board’s attempts to lower Porto’s asking price for the midfielder have been unsuccessful thus far.
Portuguese outlet JN reports that Oliveira is now being eyed by Valencia in La Liga and Wolverhampton in the Premier League.
Valencia’s new manager, Gennaro Gattuso, is a big admirer of the Portuguese veteran and has requested Jorge Mendes – the superstar agent who supervises the interests of both Gattuso and Oliveira – to try and bring him to Spain.
