Mats Hummels is reportedly on the verge of a surprise move to La Liga.

The German defender had been heavily linked with Roma after his entourage offered him to the Giallorossi and Milan.

Earlier today, Italian reports emerged claiming Roma were working on a deal for the German free agent, fresh off a Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund.

Hummels, however, may have other plans in sight.

As reported by Mallorca Zeitung, Hummels is on his way to Mallorca.

The Spanish news portal interviewed consultant Timo Boll who is overseeing negotiations between the two sides.

Boll confirmed the news, admitting that “it’s only a matter of details.”

The player would need to take a significant pay cut to facilitate a deal with Mallorca.

Boll maintains that money is not an issue: “Hummels doesn’t care about money. He just wants to live in peace.”

Therefore, it seems like Hummels has made up his mind and decided against moving to Serie A after all.
