Sources from Spain are linking Roma with French defender Clement Lenglet.

The 29-year-old is on his way out of Barcelona after two consecutive loans in the Premier League with Spurs and, most recently, Aston Villa.

Given that his contract with the Catalan club is set to expire in 2026, Lenglet’s price tag will be considerably lower this summer as the player no longer fits Barcelona’s plans.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Lenglet is keen on exploring outside of Spain and England where he would be guaranteed more playing time.

There is interest in the Spanish footballer from Bologna, a team that would offer him a place in the starting line-up and the Champions League. However, the issue to be resolved concerns the salary, which is decidedly too high and therefore needs to be lowered if necessary

Roma are also listed a potential destination for the ex-Sevilla defender.

The capital club, however, do not appear to be too interested as they would rather focus on acquiring a younger player in his position.
