Matías Viña has been spending his time in the capital on a home-work-home basis and training individually at Trigoria, awaiting the end of his 10-day quarantine period.
The delay in Roma’s official announcement for the Uruguayan international stems from the fact that the deal for Viña involved his boyhood club, Nacional de Montevideo, who were to receive around 45% of the fee for player’s sale.
According to Uruguayan journalist Rodrigo Romano, the final agreement between Roma, Palmeiras and Nacional was reached yesterday and the player is likely to be announced by the Roman club in the coming hours.
Thus, Viña will officially become a Roma player for a reported fee of around €11 million plus bonuses.
