Former Giallorossi attacker and Argentine international Gabriel Batistuta – one of the main protagonists of Roma’s Scudetto-winning team in 2001 – was recently asked about his two years spent in the Italian capital following a surprise switch from Fiorentina in 2000.
“At Roma I was treated like a king,” Batistuta recalled in an interview leading up to a charity match entitled La Partita del Cuore.
“All the hard work and effort were worth it,” he continued. “It was an unforgettable experience – two beautiful years.”
“I left many friends in Rome and that makes me go back there as often as I can,” said the Argentine legend.
