Gasperini set to drop Papu Gomez ahead of Roma showdown

The tension between attacker Papu Gomez and Atalanta has reached the breaking point.

Sky Sport reports that Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini will drop the 32 year-old for tomorrow’s showdown in Bergamo against Roma as it appears more than likely that the Argentine has played his final match for La Dea.

Gomez, who joined Atalanta in 2014, has been at odds with the Italian tactician following a row between the pair during half time of their Champions League clash on the 1st of December.

Gasperini refused to discuss the attacker’s situation earlier today when he appeared at his pre-match press conference.

“If we want to talk about football, fine. We have been talking about Gomez for days, but tomorrow we have an important match.”
