Eusebio Di Francesco is very close to being sacked from Roma as Wednesday’s evening’s showdown with Porto will be his last chance. As reported by Adnkronos, one of the names that the Giallorossi could eye for their bench is Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini. Reportedly, the former Genoa boss dreams of another chance at a big Serie A club after floundering with Inter and that opportunity could come in the color of yellow and red. Atalanta president Antonio Percassi wants to keep Gasperini at the club for life, however, Roma remains a huge temptation for him.
The relationship between the Bergamo-based club and Gasperini is very strong, as evidenced by the recent contract renewal, however, everything could change should an offer arrive from Roma, whom he was linked with two years ago before the club opted to pick Di Francesco.
