Roma got back to winning ways this evening thanks to a brace from highly-rated youth prospect Felix Afena-Gyan, who scored twice to hand the capital club a 2-0 win over Genoa.

Making only his third senior appearance, the 18 year-old scored twice late in the second half to spoil Andriy Shevchenko’s debut as the new manager of the Ligurian side.

Despite missing several key players, including Bryan Cristante, the Giallorossi put in one of their best performances of the season, dominating Genoa throughout the ninety minutes.

Speaking to DAZN at full-time, an elated Felix couldn’t hide his emotions when asked how he was feeling after scoring his first two goals as a top flight professional.

“I dedicate these goals to my teammates and the manager. And also to my mother in Ghana, I love you mom!”

“Mourinho is a phenomenal manager, he helps me improve every single day so I must thank him.”

Adding, “I just want to focus on getting better and improving each and every day.”
