Following his team’s 1-0 defeat against Lecce, Genoa manager Alberto Gilardino urged his side to bounce back on Thursday evening when they host Roma in Liguria in round six of Serie A action.
Il Grifone conceded in the 83rd minute and fell to Roberto D’Aversa’s side—failing to build upon the positive result they earned last weekend in their 2-2 draw against Napoli.
“We fought until the very last moment, this has to be the DNA we always play with,” Gilardino told DAZN.
“The game didn’t go well for us in the opening half hour, but after that we showed flashes of excellent play and created several dangerous situations.”
“Obviously there’s disappointment from having lost, but we can’t let our heads drop because we have an important midweek match at home against Roma.”
