Genoa express interest in Federico Fazio

With the Serie A season opener against Fiorentina scheduled later today, Roma are still hard at work in finding suitable destinations for players excluded from Mourinho’s plans. One of said players is Federico Fazio.

The veteran defender, in the capital since 2016, has been excluded from preseason group training. The club are trying to offload him.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolò Schira, Fazio is drawing interest from Genoa.

The player reportedly wants a two-year contract. The 34-year-old had already been linked to a move to Cagliari and Parma in the past but talks collapsed due to Fazio’s high salary; close to €2 million on a contract set to expire in the summer of 2022.
