Eldor Shomurodov could interrupt his current loan at Cagliari from Roma in search of more playing time elsewhere.
The Uzbeki striker – who joined Cagliari in the summer on loan from the Italian capital – has failed to impress Claudio Ranieri: Shomurodov has zero goals and only 2 assists to his name in 11 Serie A appearances.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Roma are hoping to materialize Shomurodov’s exit on a permanent basis before the transfer deadline at the end of the month.
Similarly to Matias Vina who is in talks to depart the Italian capital permanently, Shomurodov is now being linked with a return to his former club, Genoa.
The Grifoni are reportedly interested in bringing him back as they are the club that saw Shomurodov impress in his first year in Italy’s top flight in 2020-21.
