Genoa pushing to acquire Juan Jesus

Genoa-based newspaper Il Secolo XIX has reported that Roma defender Juan Jesus is in pole position to the be the next defensive reinforcement of Il Grifone this summer.

With a new sporting director, Daniele Faggiano, and manager, Rolando Maran, in place — Genoa will now focus on revolutionising the squad and the Giallorossi’s Brazilian defender is one of their primary targets.

The contract of Juan Jesus expires next summer and Roma are keen to not lose him for free, so the clubs are engaged in negotiations to try and find a deal.

An agreement is already in place between Genoa and the player to contractural terms, but now Maran’s side must find an agreement with Roma on a transfer fee.
