Giacomo Faticanti celebrates his Roma senior debut: “I dreamed of this since childhood.”

In their precious 2-1 away win in Helsinki, Roma were able to rely on Primavera midfielder Giacomo Faticanti late in the second half. The 18-year-old made his first senior appearance for the club, and was consequently interviewed by Roma after the final whistle.

“I can’t even describe the feelings racing through my heart right now,” he admitted. “I didn’t expect this to happen. The coach turned to me and asked for me to come on.”

“This is everything I dreamed of since I was a child,” Faticanti added. “Tonight I focused more on the emotional aspect of the game rather than the technical.”

“The boss asked me to stay close to Bryan [Cristante], and to press as much as I could. I think I did well.”

“In all honesty, it will be hard for me to sleep tonight after this,” he concluded, laughing.
