Roma defender Gianluca Mancini was ecstatic at full-time following the Giallorossi’s 2-1 win this evening over Inter.

The capital club earned a huge result at the San Siro thanks to goals from Paulo Dybala and Chris Smalling, who sealed the victory late in the second half with a headed goal.

“We played our best game of the year against Atalanta but lost, we came here well-aware of what was on the line,” Mancini told DAZN.

“Even after Dzeko’s offside goal we realised we were stronger. Tonight we proved it on the pitch by staying compact, remaining united, fighting for every ball, and willing to suffer a bit.”

“These are the kinds of results we’re capable of when we play like this. Even at 1-1 we didn’t lose any hope. I kept repeating to the guys at halftime that Roma were stronger than Inter.”

He continued, “We didn’t play the way we wanted to in the first 10-15 minutes, we didn’t press them high enough. Just like against Atalanta, we became much more aggressive after they scored”

“This is something we have to fix and it’s up to us players to do it. Tactically we didn’t play the way the manager prepared us.”
