Roma defender Gianluca Mancini was once again the hero of the night for the Giallorossi as he helped lead his side to a 1-0 win in the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals.

In his post-match reaction with Rai 1, Mancini discussed scoring the decisive header in tonight’s victory.

“We are all protagonists, not just me. We played a good match and we are happy, but it is only the first match. Everything is still wide open, nothing is done yet. Let’s prepare for Sunday’s match and then we’ll think about the return leg.”

“We hadn’t won here since 2017. On Saturday you win a derby and that gives you energy, but we can do even better. If I see Pelle, Dybala, Lukaku, El Shaarawy doing these performances, I believe we’re capable of anything.”

“I told them at halftime that when I see them running like this, we’re this much closer to winning it. We knew we could get a result tonight.”

“Winning the derby, winning at San Siro with this humility as a true team and without fear is a great joy. I can’t ask for anything better from this week.”
