Roma centreback Gianluca Mancini got his first goal of the season in tonight’s thrilling win over Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Italian defender discussed the goal and acknowledged Roma’s recent ups and downs which culminated in last weeks’ defeat to Cremonese.
“If you’d told me this would be my first goal of the season, I wouldn’t have believed you,” Mancini told DAZN after the final whistle.
“I was lucky and everything went well. It doesn’t happen very often for us defenders to take a long-distance shot, so fortunately it went well.”
“Top four? Nothing gets done with ifs and buts. We have to understand that this attitude must be shown in all matches. It’s a shame because we could have had a few more points.”
“Today was a very nice win with this crowd of supporters behind us. In terms of attitude we were better than Juve,” he added.
Mancini concluded, “Ultimately I don’t care about scoring goals. I care about winning.”
