Roma defender and vice-captain Gianluca Mancini motivated the team ahead of tomorrow night’s Europa League match-up with Brighton.

The Italian centreback spoke to Sky Sport on the eve of the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16.

“These games are always fascinating challenges to face. In Europe every match is difficult, so we will try to give our all tomorrow,” he said.

“We have been studying various ways of adapting to Brighton’s potential challenges since yesterday and will continue to do so today. Every match has many small duels to be won, and then if you face high-level teams like Brighton you have to be even better and more motivated.”

“Good results make it more fun to play. When you win it’s easier to work. De Rossi brought freshness and new ideas, we believe in what he tells us and this can also be seen on the pitch.”

“Is this the best stretch of my career? If you had asked me five years ago I would have said yes regarding that period. Even now I tell you yes, but you never stop learning. My goal is to grow and improve every day for myself, for my teammates, for the fans and for the club. When you play and feel good it’s the best, I hope to continue like this.”
