Gini Wijnaldum after Sassuolo defeat: “Happy for my first goal.”

Andy Mattioli

In a disappointing evening that saw Roma drop points at home with Sassuolo, Gini Wijnaldum was able to score his first goal for the Giallorossi in the final minutes of the game.

The ex-Liverpool man’s superb finish over Sassuolo goal-keeper Andrea Consigli gave the fans a reasons to cheer despite a negative scoreline at full-time.

Following the match, Wijnaldum reacted to the loss with a post on social media.

“Tough match. Happy to score my first goal, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough for points. Thanks everyone for the great support.”
