Roma midfielder Gini Wijnaldum discussed the Giallorossi’s defeat at the hands of his former side earlier tonight.
In his post-match interview with ESPN expressed his delight with the home crowd’s reaction to his entrance.
“It’s a pity that I didn’t start today. I’m happy to have come on early in the second half and was delighted by the respect I was shown from Feyenoord fans. Their reaction had been different twelve years ago when I returned to Rotterdam for the first time.”
“Today went well from this point of view, but I would have preferred to win the match. It would have made the return leg easier for us. Even though I was playing against Feyenoord, I just wanted to win the match and unfortunately that didn’t happen.”
