Gini Wijnaldum is edging closer to the long-awaited return to the field after completing his recovery from a fractured tibia he suffered in late August.
Following almost four months of rehab, Wijnaldum is now regularly participating in Mourinho’s group training activities as well as carrying out individual work to further improve his condition and match fitness.
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Dutch midfielder and Roma’s medical staff have set the objective of a return to the pitch in the match against Fiorentina on 15 January.
Wijnaldum hopes to be called up for the home game at the Stadio Olimpico.
