Roma have communicated that Gini Wijnaldum sustained a serious injury in today’s training session.
The club released the following statement on their official website earlier today regarding the situation surrounding the midfielder.
“Following an injury sustained during training on Sunday afternoon, Georginio Wijnaldum subsequently underwent medical tests that confirmed the presence of a fracture to the tibia in his right leg.”
“The player will undergo further assessments in the coming days, forza Gini!” their statement ended.
The news comes as a huge blow to the Giallorossi. They welcomed the Dutchman to the club earlier this month following a long and drawn-out negotiation with French giants PSG.
