Gini Wijnaldum to undergo further tests on fractured tibia

Gini Wijnaldum is still reeling from the shock suffered in Sunday’s training when the newly signed Roma player sustained a serious injury in the form of a fractured tibia.

The Dutchman is yet to make a decision regarding his recovery as the club did not rush to any conclusions and chose to have Wijnaldum undergo further tests and consult with Friedkin’s trusted surgeon Dr.  Georg Ahlbaumer of St. Moritz clinic in Switzerland.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, after today’s medical check-up, Wijnaldum is expected to contact Ahlbaumer and make a decision whether to undergo surgery or go a different route, following a more conservative method of recovery. Only then will Roma be able to establish a timeline for the midfielder’s return.
