Former Juventus and Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini weighed in on Daniele De Rossi’ start to life as Roma’s head coach.
The legendary centreback was asked about his close friend’s progress at Roma since January in a recent podcast appearance for Gianluca Gazzoli.
“I’m doubly happy for him because after his experience at SPAL he was struggling to find good teams.”
“Then there’s not a single truth: just as Daniele wasn’t bad last year, now he’s not the Guardiola of the day. Sometimes you need to be in the right place at the right time.”
“I’ve known De Rossi since the Under 17s, you can imagine how much I’m rooting for him…”
