Gladbach’s sporting director Max Eberl was recently asked about the future of Denis Zakaria (pursued by Roma and Juventus) and Matthias Ginter (pursued by Inter), both of whom are linked with a January exit from the German side.
Eberl spoke to GladbachLive and reaffirmed the club’s desire to renew their contracts:
“Players like Ginter and Zakaria will obviously always find any type of contract they want anywhere they go.”
“They don’t want any kind of contract. They’re very ambitious. Not only from a financial perspective, but also sporting-wise.”
On whether Gladbach will continue trying to renew their contracts:
“We will continue talking to them, offering them what we can. I am still confident.”
On whether both players could leave in January:
“I state once again that we want to renew their contracts. But in this day and age we cannot exclude anything.”
