Maxime Gonalons was unveiled today by La Liga side Granada as their newest reinforcement. The Frenchman officially left Roma in the final hours of the transfer window yesterday to complete a move to the Spanish side on loan with an obligation to buy for €4 million should certain clauses be met. Here is what the former Lyon man had to say this afternoon when presented to the media:
“I am very happy to be here and I hope to contribute a lot. I accepted the offer of Granada because this club was very interested in me and I like the spirit of family here. I want to continue progressing here after having been in important clubs where I have gained a lot of experience. This club is growing in the short and long term, which is important to me. A comparison to Sevilla? Sevilla is a great club, but now that I’m here at Granada, I will do my best. It’s hard to compare the two, but I will give everything. This is a new experience for me – the negotiation was finalised late last night. Once that happened, I was able to relax a bit”.
