Roma loanee Gonzalo Villar has failed to impress Sampdoria’s management despite being a regular starter for Dejan Stankovic’s side who are fighting to avoid relegation.
So far this season, Villar has made 14 appearances for the Blucerchiati.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Sampdoria are unlikely to trigger the option included in Villar’s loan deal. The Spaniard is destined to look for another destination at the end of the season.
As a result, the Italian newspaper claims the midfielder has drawn interest in MLS and, in the absence of better offers, could consider moving to the United States where he could seek a salary increase.
