Gonzalo Villar is set to make a return to Getafe following his underwhelming spell at Sampdoria.
The Roma midfielder is now expected to join the La Liga side until the end of the season, with the possibility of making it his permanent home.
According to Sky Sport, the Giallorossi have finalized Villar’s January transfer: the 25-year-old will join Getafe on loan with an obligation to buy for €3.5 million.
The obligation will reportedly be triggered only in case Getafe were to successfully avoid relegation and the player made an appearance in at least 50% of remaining games.
