RomaPress – Roma and Monza have reached an agreement for the transfer of midfielder Gonzalo Villar.
The newly promoted side are finalising the last details of the transfer with the Giallorossi after agreeing to personal terms with the midfielder’s agent, Alejandro Camaño.
Monza will acquire Villar on an initial loan deal for €1 million with an obligation to make the transfer permanent next summer for €6 million plus bonuses.
The two clubs are still working on the final items regarding the deal but the belief is Villar will be able to undergo his medical this weekend or early next week.
He didn’t travel with his teammates to Portugal for Roma’s preseason retreat, remaining in the Italian capital while his representatives resolved his club future in Milano.
The capital club acquired the 24 year-old from Elche for a fee of €5 million in January 2020. He enjoyed a decent start to life at the club under previous manager Paulo Fonseca, appearing in 58 matches during his first eighteen months.
However, he lost his place in the team following the arrival of Jose Mourinho.
