Sampdoria are nearing an agreement with Roma for the transfer of out-of-favour midfielder Gonzalo Villar.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Sampdoria have intensified talks with the Giallorossi in order to secure the services of Villar.
The Spaniard was excluded from Roma’s preseason training camp following his return from Getafe.
Di Marzio reports that an agreement could be reached tomorrow, enabling the 24-year-old to depart the Italian capital by the end of the week, ending his two and a half year tenure with the capital club.
Villar originally joined Roma in January 2020 from Elche but failed to impress following the arrival of Jose Mourinho in May 2021.
