Granada, Gonalons: “I knew it’d be difficult at Roma”.

Former Roma and current Granada midfielder Maxime Gonalons, who is expected to make his debut for the Spanish side today against Celta Vigo, was interviewed by Granada Digital. The Frenchman discussed briefly his time at Roma and also his departure from the Giallorossi.

“I knew it would be difficult In Rome,” he admitted. “They had two players in De Rossi and Totti who were symbols of the club. I knew the difficulty before arriving, but I wanted to face the challenge”.

“My first season was not bad, I played a few games — even in the Champions League. Then there were decisions to make and I went to Sevilla, where I would have liked for things to have gone differently.”

lIt’s really a good club, but unfortunately I had two injuries that prevented me from doing my best. I’m sorry I didn’t play more and show all my ability. It was difficult physically and mentally, but that’s how things went, unfortunately”.
