Granit Xhaka to join Roma in Portugal for preseason

After well over a month worth of negotiations all signs point to Xhaka finally joining Roma over the coming days.

According to Angelo Mangiante of Sky Sport, Roma are currently pushing to close the deal, with the Swiss international applying pressure on Arsenal to let him go. The Gunners secured their replacement in Lokonga a couple of days ago and are expected to accept Roma’s final bid for their number 34. The parties are close to a total agreement.

Mangiante reports that the player has already agreed personal terms with the Roman club and looks to join his new team in their preseason in Portugal next week. Roma square off with Porto on July 28th.
