Houssem Aouar got on Roma’s scoresheet earlier tonight as Roma dominated Cagliari in a remarkable 4-1 victory.

In his post-match interview with DAZN, Aouar discussed his position within the team and his ambitions.

“I’m happy, I know that last year was difficult for me. Now I feel better, it’s good for me and it’s good for the team too. I hope to continue like this,” said the Algerian midfielder.

“Mourinho? The coach has a winning mentality, he always wants more and so do I. I’m happy for the team, for me and for him because I want to show that I’m important and with humility I hope to continue like this.”

“I’m a team player. I like to play like in this position or a bit further back. Last year I didn’t play much and I only scored one goal, but usually I got up to 7 in the season. I’m good at this.”

“I hope to do more for the team, it’s important that the midfielders also score goals,” he added.
