Roma midfielder Houssem Aouar was back in the scoresheet after returning to the team’s line-up this evening versus Fiorentina.

The Algerian international helped equalize the initial 1-goal deficit at the Artemio Franchi.

In his post-match reaction with DAZN, Aouar said, “Regardless of the formation or the gameplan, we must be flexible – we are professionals and therefore we have to be ready for any formation change.”

“In the first half we struggled to win duels,” he commented. “We needed a bit of physical presence and I did it. Then I motivated the team to do better and I think we did.”

“When I arrived after the Africa Cup of Nations I was in a difficult place mentally. It was a tough competition for my country, but I trained hard every day. The coach spoke to me a lot, he told me to increase the intensity and I did. I train every day to be ready if the coach needs me. Today I did it well and I’m ready for any possibility. I hope to help this team.”

“Last year was a very difficult season for me for many reasons that I don’t want to talk about. I have to work every day to be physically ready. This is a new league for me, I have to learn to play here in Italy, there is more tactics than in France.”

“I need some time, but little by little I’m ready to help the team. I want to help this club because being at Roma is a great opportunity for me. So I will do everything to be ready for the fans and the coach.”
