Houssem Aouar made his first appearance for Roma in Saturday morning’s friendly win over Boreale.
The Algerian midfielder scored the team’s fourth goal to make it 4-0.
At full-time, Aouar spoke to Corriere dello Sport about his ambitions after joining Roma as a free agent in June.
“I’m a team player, very versatile, I try to take inspiration from players like Zidane, Iniesta and Totti, I want to become great like them,” he said. “I want to try to give my contribution in the attack as well by scoring a few goals this year. For me there is no difference when it comes to playing in a 4-3-3 or in a 3-5-2.”
“I’m an ambitious player, but at the same time I came here with a lot of humility. I want to play even though I know that Roma have many strong players in midfield. I’m ready to do anything for Roma and I certainly will be ready for the season to come.”
