After a central defender, Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi will also try to purchase a right back before the end of the transfer market window. The name most heavily linked with Roma in recent weeks has been Napoli’s Hysaj. The Giallorossi have held talks with his agent, Mario Giuffredi, as Carlo Ancelotti’s side continue to request €20 million for his services. Roma, though, hope Napoli will eventually lower their asking price once the possibility of Tottenham, who are also interested in the Albanian, is no longer an option.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta is another name being considered by Petrachi. The Premier League’s transfer window shuts on Thursday, so the Roma sporting director will try to beat the clock by attempting to finalise a deal for Alderweireld, sell Robin Olsen to an English side, and potentially move for Zappacosta, reports Corriere della Sera.
