Ibañez calls for focus ahead of Derby

Roma’s Roger Ibañez called for his side to show the right attitude ahead of this evening’s Derby showdown against city rivals Lazio.

The two sides face-off tonight at the Stadio Olimpico with little to play for. The capital clubs will both finish outside of a Champions League place behind Inter, Milan, Atalanta, Juventus, and Napoli.

Despite nothing being on the line, the Brazilian, who’s making his fiftieth appearance for the Giallorossi, stressed the uniqueness of this fixture.

“We know that this match is unlike the others,” stated Ibañez to Roma TV. “It’s an important game for both us and the supporters.”

“We must thank the fans for all of the support they give us. We need to play with the right strength and attitude in order to win this evening.”

He concluded, “I didn’t think I’d reach fifty appearances so quickly here, but I’m very happy. Sempre Forza Roma!”
