Roma central defender Roger Ibañez underwent follow-up examinations late this afternoon after he suffered a muscle injury in his right thigh during Sunday’s victory against Parma.
The Brazilian was forced to exit this past weekend’s league clash in the second half after he felt discomfort — during the post-match, there were fears that he may have suffered a muscle tear after he was seen heavily limping while exiting the Stadio Olimpico.
Sky Sport, however, reports that today’s examinations revealed no tears or structural damage to the defender’s flexor — however, he will be held out of Thursday’s Europa League match against Cluj.
Ibañez will be monitored over the next few days and will be re-assessed later this week, but it’s unknown whether or not he’ll be ready for this weekend’s pivotal league showdown with Napoli.
