Roma central defender Roger Ibañez highlighted the importance of his side’s match against Atalanta, his former club, this evening in Bergamo.
The Brazilian left La Dea for the Giallorossi in January and has become one of most integral pieces in Paulo Fonseca’s 3-4-2-1 set-up.
“Today is a very important game for us, we worked well this week,” said the 22 year-old to Sky Sport before kick-off.
Ibañez was then asked about the pre-match press conference of Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini, who admitted that he wished the club had kept the youngster after his incredible performances in the Italian capital.
“He’s a very good manager,” the defender stated.
“But I play for Roma now and must work and fight for this shirt.”
