Roma starlet Nicolo Zaniolo is edging closer to a return to the pitch.
The youngster has been out since September after he suffered a second torn ACL while on national team duty with Gli Azzurri.
Following surgery and months of rehabilitation, Zaniolo is nearing full health and be available for selection in the coming weeks. Zaniolo’s father, Igor, confirmed today that his son is itching to return for Roma and move past his nightmare 2020.
“The light is at the end of the tunnel, this nightmare is almost over for Nicolo,” he said to LaSpezia.it.
“He should be back by the 20th of April so he’ll have all of May to play, including the season finale against Spezia. The Euros? It’s a race against time, but he wants to try and make it.”
He continued, “The manager is waiting for him but everything must be thought out carefully, there’s no need to rush.”
