Inter attacker Marcus Thuram weighed in on his team’s performance after his late goal secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Roma on Sunday evening.
The 26 year-old found the back of the net in 81st minute to hand the Giallorossi their fourth league defeat of the season while his side leapfrogged Juventus to go back into first place.
“The important thing tonight was to win, all the stuff involving Lukaku doesn’t interest me,” Thuram told Sky Sport.
“It’s always a pleasure to play in this stadium with these supporters, definitely a thrill when we can celebrate with them. The atmosphere was incredible, it was a great evening with them.”
Finally, he was asked about his early impact with the Nerazzurri. His goal against Roma marked his fourth of the season to go along with seven assists.
“I’ve tried to work very hard ever since I arrived here. I’m scoring goals and getting assists, which is good, but the most important thing is to win.”
