Inter manager Simone Inzaghi was asked about Romelu Lukaku’s decision to join Roma before the transfer deadline.
The Belgian attacker withdrew from talks for a return to Inter earlier in the summer which at the time did not sit well with Inter boss Simone Inzaghi and Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez.
However, Inzaghi sounded genuinely happy for Lukaku in today’s post-match interview with DAZN after Inter-Cagliari.
“Roma made an amazing signing,” said Inzaghi. “His return to Serie A is good for Italian football and he’s a great player whom we all know.”
“For the rest, I’m very satisfied with the players I have and I hope they can give us great satisfaction this season.”
