Inter director Beppe Marotta spoke about Romelu Lukaku refusal to return to Inter this season.
The Nerazzurri had been in talks for Lukaku all summer long. Finally, the club withdrew from negotiations after rumours emerged of Lukaku dealing directly with Juventus at the same time.
Now, Jose Mourinho’s Roma are being linked as potential suitors for the Belgian striker who is seeking a move away from Chelsea.
However, Marotta – in an interview with Radio Serie A – ruled out a return to Italy for Lukaku.
“Lukaku left a lot of disappointment behind him. Where will he go? Now the roads are starting to close as the transfer deadline is less than two weeks away.”
“I doubt he will go back to Italy, there’s not enough time for his transfer to go through,” said the Italian executive.
