Inter Milan technician Simone Inzaghi reviewed his side’s win over Roma at San Siro earlier tonight.

The Italian manager spoke highly of his team’s effort in a post-match interview with DAZN, “Today Thuram played very well with his teammates, Roma defended very well. We were good and patient, in these matches where you don’t manage to score early on problems can arise, but the team was focused.”

“The team isolated itself from all the talk around Lukaku’s return, we prepared the possession phase, but Roma is not just Lukaku.”

“The boys were clear-headed, there was a risk of this atmosphere getting to us but the team was clear-headed, controlled the match, had patience and we deserved to score first, but that’s not always the case.”

“We didn’t know if Roma had played 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2, we wanted to go out with Pavard and Darmian on Cristante’s side, the boys stayed in the game and executed what we had prepared. As for the substitutions, I changed Pavard because he was playing well but I thought about it a lot, we had the game in hand.”

“If we couldn’t find the goal, we would have stretched ourselves and I preferred to change. I wanted a little more in the middle and I changed the two in the middle, then Asllani and Frattesi had an excellent impact
