With Milan Skriniar’s future likely to unfold away from the Nerazzurri, Inter have approached Roma defender Chris Smalling ahead of the summer.
The Engishman is set to become a free agent unless he chooses to extend his stay in the Italian capital. At the moment, however, the player’s demands haven’t been met by the Giallorossi.
As a result, Inter want to take advantage of this situation. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter representatives have formulated a two-year deal to Smalling’s entourage with slightly higher salary than the one offered by Roma – around €3.5 million plus bonuses, whereas Roma have advanced a deal worth €3 million per season.
