Chris Smalling’s future remains uncertain as the player is about to enter the final stretch of his contract with the Giallorossi. Roma hold no option to automatically extend his stay for an additional year.
As a result, Radio Radio reports that Inter have manifested interested in the English veteran who has been Roma’s defensive leader over the last few seasons.
The Nerazzurri could advance Smalling a two-year option similarly to the one they offered to Henrikh Mkhitaryan last season.
Roma plan to hold talks with Smalling’s agent with the aim to convince his client to stay in the Italian capital until 2024.
