Inter boss Simone Inzaghi lauded his side for defeating an “excellent” Roma side tonight in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.

Inzaghi’s men eliminated the Giallorossi from the competition thanks to goals from veteran attacking pair Edin Dzeko and Alexis Sanchez.

“I think the guys did well, tonight wasn’t easy. Roma have a lot quality and an excellent squad,” the former Lazio boss told SportMediaset.

“We deserved to advance even though there were moments where we had to suffer. Let’s remember that we have to take the opponent into account.”

Finally, “However, it’s during those difficult moments where you have to keep your clean sheet especially clean.”

“We faced a strong opponent with a great manager and we succeeded, which I’m very happy about.”
