Istanbul Başakşehir president: “Ünder could join Napoli. We would earn a percentage from the transfer”.

Göksel Gümüşdağ, the president of Turkish side Istanbul Başakşehir, spoke to TRT Spor and confirmed that Roma are in talks with Napoli for the sale of Cengiz Ünder.

Gümüşdağ’s side is paying close attention to the negotiations as his club would earn a percentage of the transfer fee should the sale of the attacker ultimately go thru.

“It’s possible that Ünder could join Napoli. If he does, we would receive a portion of the transfer fee,” he stated.

Ünder has seen his role shrink significantly this season under manager Paulo Fonseca. Since the resumption of Serie A following the COVID-19 stoppage, the attacker has featured in only 2 matches, playing a total of 63 minutes.

The 23 year-old has also not made a single appearance in the past five games for the Giallorossi.
