Spanish defender and Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos is being linked with a move to Roma.

Ramos – despite being very close to a transfer to Galatasaray following his spell at Paris Saint-Germain – is said to have entertained multiple offers this summer.

After entering free agency earlier in June, Ramos declined options from Saudi Arabia and MLS and focused his attention on Turkey.

However, Italian news portal Tuttomercatoweb claims Ramos has also been in contact with Jose Mourinho who is aiming to reunite with the ex-Madrid defender in the Italian capital.

Roma are in fact seeking an additional defender, preferably a veteran profile that could fill in as a fifth-choice centreback in Mourinho’s roster.

At the moment, however, Galatasaray are still in pole position to land the 37-year-old.
