Italy manager Roberto Mancini spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport and touched upon Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo and his role in the future of the national team.
Mancini shared his thoughts on Mourinho’s comments regarding Zaniolo having to play abroad in order to receive the respect he deserves.
“I don’t know, I can’t enter into these dynamics, Mourinho is his coach, he works with him every day.”
“I believe that Zaniolo now has to play, work and improve a lot, he is still young. I don’t know what he intends to do, the important thing is that he plays well and gets better and better.”
“It is not enough to have quality, you have to put everything into practice and make it productive for the good of the team.”
“I hope for Zaniolo and Scamacca to surprise me in 2022 and prove themselves the revelation of Italy. I think that with hard work both of them can achieve great things.”
